Our Mission Statement

We will respect the challenges you have been struggling with and explore together how you have worked on them. We will join you from a deeply respectful place to craft and sculpt your way to finding robust and fulfilling solutions that enable you to live life to its fullest, individually and with the loved ones that matter most.

Areas of Expertise

Do you feel that you are anxious or depressed?

Do you feel yourself experiencing nervousness, restlessness, or tension?

Have you found yourself avoiding things that matter dearly to you, such as socializing with friends or family?

Do you obsess over negative thoughts, constantly feeling “less than” or comparing yourself to others?

Do you often feel that others lead extraordinary lives while you suffer setbacks and disappointment?

Do you feel chronically unfulfilled?

In our therapy sessions, we’ll work to solve current problems and improve positive thinking and behavior. I will work with you to help you understand your reactions and provide valuable tools to cope with life’s obstacles.

Depression and anxiety often feel like bullies, making us think that we cannot cope. The sadness, desperation, lack of drive, and often endless comparisons to others or the way we used to be seem to instill every moment of life with heaviness and pain.

Our work together will help you become empowered to face the day or night ahead of you and provide you with life-changing skills that will enable you to transcend endless cycles of fear, worry, and sadness.

You can now make a life-changing first step. With kindness and compassion for ourselves, we will learn to recognize when our thoughts seem to turn against us and learn how to walk into life’s challenges with strength and self-respect.

You can feel happy and fulfilled again! You can learn to find the motivation to do what matters most to you and live the life you want most!

Couples often feel so rejected by each other and unloved. They wonder where the feelings, respect, and sense of wholesome togetherness have gone.

So often, people say that they just don’t feel important anymore to their spouses…

They yearn and wish for closeness, contentment, and emotional connectedness. Extensively trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), I aid couples in reconnecting through bonds of deepest meaning and recreating a strong sense of togetherness. Understanding your partner’s deepest needs-having your partner understand yours-  need not be an elusive dream!

Together, we can create safety and nurturing that transform your marriage into the oasis you crave. Your marriage need not be a source of frustration and pain! You and your significant other can learn to love, laugh, and invigorate your marriage through greater connectivity and mutual discovery.

Raising robust, successful children today is hard!

Are you spiraling into frequent altercations with your children or having trouble loving or connecting with your child, teen, or adult offspring?

Family therapy can be a wonderful place to explore, rediscover, and reestablish the bonds of love and acceptance with those that matter most.

You will learn to recognize self-defeating thought patterns with the skills we learn together in therapy.

More importantly, you will gain the courage and wherewithal to assert your own best decision-making, and the ability to walk towards the life you want to live.

Meet

Avrohom J. Weiss, LMFT
Relationship Counselor and Psychotherapist

I believe that therapy is the place for blossoming and becoming.
It is a place for self discovery and developing into the person you want to be.

I have worked in various therapeutic and educational settings, gaining many experiences with different populations.

In addition to my clinical experience, I have worked in the field of education for over twenty years in both educational and administrative positions in the US and abroad.

After graduating with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2013, my early clinical experiences were formed at the Family Institute of Neve Yerushalayim in Jerusalem, Israel, where I served as a staff therapist and a volunteer on their domestic violence unit.

I worked for several years at Tikva at Ohel, Ohel Children’s Home and Family Services’ outpatient mental health clinic, as well as a foster care case planner aiding children and their families under the administration of Child Protective Services (ACS).

I served as well as an Intensive In Community (IIC) service provider, where I provided individual and family therapy to families in crisis.
I served as  an associate therapist in private practice settings throughout the tri-state area for close to ten years where I have developed expertise aiding my clients suffering from anxiety, depression, OCD, parenting and family challenges, as well as relationship conflict.

In 2023, I opened Robust Living Therapy in Rutherford NJ, with the goal of providing expert mental health care to the population of Northern NJ and beyond.

It is our goal that walking through our doors will be a momentous step in your life through cultivating
the ability to relinquish pain and embracing your vision of the future.
